LITTLE ROCK One day after Arkansas Democratic Party Chairman Bill Gwatney was shot and killed at the party’s Little Rock headquarters, the motive of the man who authorities say pulled the trigger eluded investigators and the people who saw him every day.

Not even the contents of Timothy Dale Johnson’s home on Janet Lane just southwest of Searcy offered clear answers about whether Johnson’s rampage was motivated by politics or business or something else altogether.

Little Rock police removed his will, a computer, a stickynote bearing Gwatney’s name and a telephone number, two Gwatney auto-dealership key chains with keys, the antidepressant drug Effexor and 14 guns from his house.

  1. Condolences to Bill Gwatney’s family, and a wake-up call to any and every person who believes anti-depressants are safe. Add this story to thousands of others involving drugs such as Effexor. If you support Senate Bill S.1375, which would provide drug therapy to pregnant and nursing mothers, look at the warning signs, and do everything you can to stop the killings.
