Murder Suspect’s Family Speaks

The family of Harlan Drake, the man charged with murdering two people in Owosso, releases a statement about Friday’s killings.

The man charged with murdering two people in Owosso was battling depression and was experiencing problems with his medication.

That’s according to a statement released by Harlan Drake’s family.

His wife, mother and brother also don’t believe the killings were in response to any grudges Drake may have had.

“We do not feel these tragic killings were premeditated, a political statement regarding pro-life or pro-abortion factions, or out of a grudge. We have been overwhelmed by sadness and emotion as we try to understand what happened and why.”

Drake is charged with first-degree murder in the deaths of James Pouillon and Mike Fuoss.

He was arrested at his home shortly after the killings Friday morning.

Investigators say he was also planning on killing a third person.

Drake is now back in jail after being taken to the hospital over the weekend after a suicide attempt in his cell.

A service for Mike Fuoss was held in Owosso Tuesday morning. He was then taken to Chelsea to be buried.

James pouillon was cremated Monday after a private funeral service–however, there will be a public memorial for him at Owosso’s football stadium, at 1pm Wednesday.

Antidepressants “Probable Cause” In German School Massacre

Automatically translated from Dutch into English:

Third paragraph reads:  “He was last year some time under psychiatric treatment for depression. This said the Minister of Interior Affairs of Baden-Württemberg, Herbert Rech, Thursday at a press conference.”

Paragraphs 7 through 11 read:  “Almost all the school killings in recent years have been committed by young people who were under the influence of antidepressants .

Medication blunts emotions,  blocking feelings as love and the possibility of emotional connection with people to succeed.  It gives people the love for fellow human beings lose.

It is scientifically proven that antidepressants just cause more suicides among young people.

Antidepressants probable cause extreme aggression

A 17-year-old former student opened fire on students near Stuttgart in Germany and killed at least 16 people. The teenager was a former student at the school where he Winnenden caused a massacre.  Three teachers and at least 10 students came by his action to life.

The media knows that Tim Kretschmer “calm inliep the classroom and opened fire without a word to say” Then he went to a psychiatric clinic and shot one officer dead.

Tim had his act through an Internet chat announced. . He was last year some time under psychiatric treatment for depression. This said the Minister of Interior Affairs of Baden-Württemberg, Herbert Rech, Thursday at a press conference.

A day before the school massacre, there was a 30 year old man in Alabama, America at least 10 people shot to death he was shot by the police.

Antidepressants is a probable cause

A few days ago Trouw published a report in The Floor (Waanzin a pill), which were discussed the scientific evidence showing that antidepressants may be the direct cause for extreme violence and mass murder.

Almost all the school killings in recent years have been committed by young people who were under the influence of antidepressants.

Medication blunts emotions,  blocking feelings as love and the possibility of emotional connection with people to succeed.  It gives people the love for fellow human beings lose.

It is scientifically proven that antidepressants just cause more suicides among young people.

Antidepressants cause changes in the brains that very serious and dangerous side effects could result. . There are several mechanisms described that antidepressants can cause violent behavior. . In addition to (manic) psychosis is akathisie a dangerous side effect. That is a feeling of unrest, large inner anxiety, which can discharge in extremely aggressive behavior.

The phenomenon can occur with various psychotropic drugs, including SSRIs (selective serotonin re-inhibitors), antidepressants that the reinclusion of the brain substance serotonin by inhibiting brain nerves and thus would work against depression and certain anxiety disorders.

Effexor, it means that Martin B. from the wedding swallowed, no SSRI, but a serotonin-noradrenaline re-inhibitor (a Snri).
In the Netherlands swallow now about 1 million people a SSRI or a Snri and be there every day. There is a depression epidemic. Depression threatens the number 1 popular disease in the Netherlands.

Akathisie The phenomenon is well documented, says psychologist Merckelbach right.

“But how often it occurs, we know not. Manufacturers would be required to register updating, but this is wrong because there are no special registration in the category for akathisie was created. . There is never a good look.. It seems a rather underestimated phenomenon. You might wonder whether it is so rare as many of us want to believe. ” The experts who pretend there is no problem, but on the payroll of the pharmaceutical industry are, I do not take seriously. “

The pharmaceutical companies do everything possible to this type of serious adverse reactions to suppress. . But scientifically medicines often cause symptoms which they are prescribed for suicidal thoughts and extremely violent behavior. These medicines also cause obesity, severe weight gain, impotence, sexual dysfunktie, impaired cognitive skills and diabetes which may also depressed, which then need more treatment with antidepressants.

It is a big fraud. The pharmaceutical companies want to profit from selling gepattenteerde drugs and psychiatrists are concerned with lies and deception that more and more people become ill and the medication and continue to use. It is time to once again open the eyes and facts no longer ignore.

Antidepressants are dangerous drugs that encourage extreme violence and murder, and just cause more suicides. These are scientific facts.

Facts On Recent School Shooters Taking Antidepressants

Prescription for Violence: Is there a Connection Between School Shooters & Psychiatric Drugs?
New Documentary Exposes Rampant Pharmaceutically–Induced School Shootings
22 September 2008

The Kauhajoki Finland school shooting, which left 11 dead and 2 wounded, could be the latest in the chain of psychiatric drug induced school shootings highlighted in a new documentary entitled Psychiatry: Prescription for Violence — created by the mental health watchdog, Citizens Commission on Human Rights (CCHR). With 54 dead and 105 wounded from recent school shooters under the influence of psychiatric drugs documented to cause suicidal behavior, mania, psychosis, hallucinations, hostility and “homicidal ideation,” CCHR is calling on Finland’s law enforcement and press to fully investigate the school shooter’s psychiatric drug history. The group says this is the second major school shooting to happen in Finland in less than a year: last November, Pekka-Eric Auvinen joined the growing list of school shooters under the influence of psychiatric drugs documented by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration to cause suicidal behavior and homicidal thoughts. In other instances, the shooter’s medical records were never made public, so their psychiatric drug use remains in question. School shootings committed by individuals under the influence of psychiatric drugs include:

  • DeKalb, Illinois – February 14, 2008: 27-year-old Steven Kazmierczak shot and killed five people and wounded 16 others before killing himself in a Northern Illinois University auditorium. According to his girlfriend, he had recently been taking Prozac, Xanax and Ambien. Toxicology reports showed that he still had trace amounts of Xanax in his system.

  • Omaha, Nebraska – December 5, 2007: 19-year-old Robert Hawkins killed eight people and wounded five before committing suicide in an Omaha mall. Hawkins’ friend told CNN that the gunman was on antidepressants, and autopsy results confirmed he was under the influence of the “anti-anxiety” drug Valium.

  • Jokela, Finland – November 7, 2007: 18-year-old Finnish gunman Pekka-Eric Auvinen had been taking antidepressants before he killed eight people and wounded a dozen more at Jokela High School in southern Finland, then committed suicide.

  • Cleveland, Ohio – October 10, 2007: 14-year-old Asa Coon stormed through his school with a gun in each hand, shooting and wounding four before taking his own life. court records show Coon had been placed on the antidepressant Trazadone.

  • Blacksburg, Virginia – April 16, 2007: The psychiatric drug history of Seung-Hui Cho in the Virginia Tech Massacre was never made public. Initial reports stated that “depression medication” was found among Cho’s belongings. But neither his toxicology reports, nor his recent medical history were ever released to find out whether Cho had been in withdrawal from psychiatric medication. (33 were killed and 29 injured, but this was not included in the total of dead and wounded cited above.)

  • Red Lake Indian Reservation, Minnesota – March 21, 2005: 16-year-old Native American Jeff Weise, reportedly under the influence of the antidepressant Prozac, went on a shooting rampage at home and at his school, killing nine people and wounding five before committing suicide.

  • Greenbush, New York – February 2004: 16-year-old Jon Romano strolled into his high school in east Greenbush and opened fire with a shotgun. Special education teacher Michael Bennett was hit in the leg. Romano had been taking “medication for depression.”

  • El Cajon, California – March 22, 2001: 18-year-old Jason Hoffman was on two antidepressants, Effexor and Celexa, when he opened fire at his California high school wounding five. Hoffman had also undergone an “anger management” program.

  • Williamsport, Pennsylvania – March 7, 2000: 14-year-old Elizabeth Bush was on the antidepressant Prozac when she blasted away at fellow students in Williamsport, Pennsylvania, wounding one.

  • Conyers, Georgia – May 20, 1999: 15-year-old T.J. Solomon was being treated with a mix of antidepressants when he opened fire on and wounded 6 of his classmates.

  • Columbine, Colorado – April 20, 1999: 18-year-old Eric Harris was on the antidepressant Luvox when he and his partner Dylan Klebold killed 12 classmates and a teacher and wounded 23 others before taking their own lives in the bloodiest school massacre in history. The coroner confirmed that the antidepressant was in his system through toxicology reports while Dylan Klebold’s autopsy was never made public. Harris and Klebold underwent “anger management” and “death education” classes.

  • Notus, Idaho – April 16, 1999: 15-year-old Shawn Cooper fired two shotgun rounds in his school narrowly missing students; he was taking a mix of antidepressants.

  • Springfield, Oregon – May 21, 1998: 15-year-old Kip Kinkel murdered his own parents and then proceeded to school where he opened fire on students in the cafeteria, killing two and wounding 22. Kinkel had been on Prozac. Kinkel also underwent “anger management” classes.

URGENT: Contact The Senate Now To Stop The MOTHERS Act

http://www.uniteforlife.org/SayNoToTheMothersAct.pdf

http://www.uniteforlife.org/senatecontacts.pdf

URGENT: SENATOR HARRY REID IS ONCE AGAIN TRYING TO PASS A PACKAGE OF BILLS INCLUDING THE MOTHERS ACT.

Information:  Several weeks ago, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid packaged a number of bills together and tried to get the bills passed as one package (The “Coburn” Omnibus Bill).  While the package of bills included some legislation that was positive, it also included The MOTHERS Act. As a mother who was prescribed antidepressants days after giving birth (because my three-day-old son required emergency medical treatment for a life-threatening choking incident and I was very upset by the incident, medical professionals, including my OBGYN, chose to consider my worry about my newborn Postpartum Anxiety — instead of a normal reaction of any new mother concerned about her son), and who was subsequently forced to continue these drugs while involuntarily held in a psychiatric ward, I understand the implications of this screening and “treatment” legislation better than any of its advocates. On the drugs I became suicidal and had thoughts of extreme violence I had never before experienced in my life.

Please take a moment to do the following to protect mothers who will not be as fortunate as I was in realizing it was the drugs making me psychotic. You can see a video of my son below with the facts about antidepressants.

Sincerely,

Amy Philo

DON’T LET THE 110th CONGRESS BE RESPONSIBLE FOR INCREASING ANTIDEPRESSANT-RELATED BIRTH DEFECTS AND INFANT DEATHS. DO NOT PASS THE MOTHERS ACT AS PART OF AN OMNIBUS PACAKGE.

The MOTHERS Act is a highly controversial bill, considering the growing public awareness that antidepressants have serious and even deadly side effects. This bill, if passed, will assuredly increase the number of pregnant women and new mothers being put on antidepressant drugs. There are already too many pregnant women being put on antidepressants evidenced by the FDA’s adverse reaction reports (MedWatch) listed below. This bill will assuredly increase the number of pregnant women and new mothers being prescribed antidepressants documented by the U.S. FDA to cause suicidal ideation, mania, worsening depression and birth defects. FDA’s MedWatch System (Adverse Drug Reactions) Already Has Overwhelming Evidence of Spontaneous Abortions, Premature Babies and Birth Defects from SSRI Antidepressants:

Doctors, other health care providers, pharmacists, lawyers and consumers filed the following adverse drug reaction reports with the FDA’s MedWatch system during 2004-2007 concerning pregnant women taking antidepressants (the most common and recommended treatment for women diagnosed with postpartum depression). In all the reports below, antidepressants were cited as the primary suspected drug to have caused the adverse reaction in pregnant women:

  • 145 spontaneous abortions
  • 150 premature babies
  • 208 babies born with heart disease
  • 218 babies born with defects

The FDA states that only 1-10% of side effects are even reported to their MedWatch database. Using a median range of 5% being reported, the actual number of pregnant women experiencing adverse reactions to antidepressant drugs is estimated as follows:

  • 2,900 spontaneous abortions
  • 3,000 premature births
  • 4,160 babies born with heart disease
  • 4,360 babies born with birth defects

The “Melanie Blocker-Stokes Postpartum Depression Research and Care Act,” also known as “The MOTHERS Act” was named after Melanie Stokes, a new mother who was subjected to a cocktail of psychiatric drugs and electroshock after being diagnosed with post-partum depression. It was only after she had been administered drugs documented by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to cause suicidal ideation that she committed suicideThere is too much controversy over antidepressants to pass any legislation that could increase the administration of these drugs to pregnant women and new mothers. Do not allow the pharmaceutical interests to put new mothers and their unborn children at risk. Do not pass the MOTHERS Act.

Medication Madness: Breggin Speaks on Arkansas & Anthrax

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/dr-peter-breggin/the-anthrax-perpetrator-a_b_119278.html
Dr. Peter Breggin

The Anthrax Perpetrator and the Arkansas Shooter Were Taking Antidepressants
Posted August 15, 2008 | 07:46 PM (EST)

It was recently disclosed that two murderers, one extremely notorious, were probably taking antidepressants at the time of their crimes, but hardly anyone is taking notice.

On August 7, 2008, a few newspapers mentioned that newly released government papers showed that bioweapons scientist Bruce Ivins had been taking the antidepressant Celexa during the time he developed and carried out his plan to send letters laced with anthrax through the mail. Ivins killed himself with an overdose with other pills on July 29 after learning that the FBI was going to indict him. His terrorist attack killed five people.

Within a week after his suicide, the government made public the information that Ivins had a history of mental instability and that he had been taking Celexa (citalopram), a Prozac knockoff. According to the August 7 Los Angeles Times, a U. S. Attorney reported that Ivins was taking Celexa in the summer and fall of 2001 — the time period during which he was planning and carrying out his anthrax letter assault, which began with poisoned letters postmarked September 18, 2001.

In a letter to a friend on June 27, 2000, Ivins indicated that he was taking Celexa. A week later he wrote that his psychiatrist and counselor thought his problems “may not be those of depression or bipolar disorder, they may be that of ‘paranoid personality disorder.’” On October 16, 2001, during the anthrax attacks, a coworker noted, “Bruce has been an absolute manic basket case in the last few days.”

Celexa, and the other newer antidepressants, commonly cause a worsening of depression, manic-like reactions (that mistakenly get diagnosed as bipolar disorder), and paranoia. A few newspapers mentioned Ivins’ use of Celexa; but none that I have found made any links between Celexa, suicide and violence, even though these associations appear in the FDA-approved label for the drug.

Turning to the second murderer, on August 13th Tim Johnson walked into the Democratic headquarters in Little Rock and shot dead the chairman of the Arkansan Democratic Party, Bill Gwatney. There was no apparent motive. Earlier in the day, Johnson abruptly began to behave irrationally at work. He looked extremely irate, scribbled graffiti on the walls, and then abruptly left. Later in the morning, he shot and killed Mr. Gwatney. After a police chase, Johnson himself was shot to death. A police property receipt for items taken from Johnson’s home listed a bottle of the antidepressant Effexor XR (long-acting venlafaxine). Effexor, like Celexa, can cause suicide violence, and manic-like reactions.

The scientific evidence is overwhelming that the antidepressants can and frequently do cause extremely abnormal behavior. I’ve reviewed this evidence and vividly described dozens of cases of antidepressant-induced suicide, violence and crime in my new book, Medication Madness: A Psychiatrist Exposes the Dangers of Mood Altering Drugs (St. Martin’s, 2008). In almost all the cases, people with no history of severe problems nonetheless lost control of themselves after starting on an antidepressant and committed desperate and often bizarre acts with disastrous consequences.

Although the scientific literature that I review in Medication Madness demonstrates that antidepressants can cause severely disturbed behavior, there’s no need look further than the conservative FDA-approved labels for the drugs as found in the Physicians’ Desk Reference (2008). Since 2005 all the antidepressants including Celexa and Effexor carry a black box warning about antidepressant-induced suicidality. The black box also warns about “clinical worsening” and “unusual changes in behavior.” This warning is prominently situated at the top of the lengthy description of the drugs that are found in the official labels or package inserts.

In addition to the black box, both labels for Celexa and Effexor have extensive additional warnings about antidepressant-induced abnormal behavior, including reports of “anxiety, agitation, panic attacks, insomnia, irritability, hostility, aggressiveness, impulsivity, insomnia, akathisia (psychomotor restlessness), hypomania and mania” in association with the drugs. This list is worth re-reading a few times; it is a prescription for violence. It mimics almost word for word the warnings I began giving many years earlier in my books and scientific articles. While these warnings are found in all antidepressant labels, Effexor goes one step further by listing “homicidal ideation” as a rarely reported adverse effect to the drug.

In addition, the FDA now requires the drug companies to make available for patients and their families a special “Medication Guide” about the risks associated with antidepressants. The guide warns patients and their families to be on the lookout for multiple symptoms that may develop after the drug has been started, including the following bulleted items:

· Attempts to commit suicide
· New or worse depression
· Feeling very agitated or restless
· New or worse irritability
· Acting aggressive, being angry, or violent
· Acting on dangerous impulses

Given this readily available information, why isn’t there an overwhelming public demand to examine the role that antidepressants may have played in the violence perpetrated by Bruce Ivins and Tim Johnson, as well as many others such as Cho, the mass murderer at Virginia Tech, and Eric Harris, the mass murderer at Columbine High School?

Is there a conspiracy to remain silent about these matters of such enormous public importance? The drug companies spend billions of dollars each year, often in the form of hush money for lawsuit settlements, in order hide from the public how deadly their drugs can be. They advertise heavily in the scientific journals and in the general media, and use this leverage to suppress negative information about their products. The drug companies control much of what happens in organized medicine and psychiatry, including nearly all pharmacology research. The FDA and the NIMH act like partners to the drug industry in what I call the psychopharmaceutical complex. This is not so much a conspiracy as an open partnership among interest groups who feed off pushing psychiatric drugs onto the public.

Given the growing mountain of cases of violence that may be directly caused by exposure to antidepressants, it’s time for Congress to get more seriously involved in demanding the facts and in investigating the role of antidepressants in so many murders that may have been avoidable if the perpetrators had not been given the drugs. The media also needs to take up the issue. Instead of passing mentions in a few newspapers that these and other murderers have been exposed to antidepressants, we need genuine investigative reporting to dig out the details. In the meanwhile, as my new book demonstrates, and as the FDA labels warn, there can be no doubt that antidepressants can and do cause suicide, mayhem and violence.

Effexor Behind Slaying of Arkansas Democratic Party Chair – UPDATE

Paragraph 3 reads: “Little Rock police removed his will, a computer, a stickynote bearing Gwatney’s name and a telephone number, two Gwatney auto-dealership key chains with keys, the antidepressant drug Effexor and 14 guns from his house.”

Killer’s home yields 14 guns, no motive
2 key chains, note only ties to Gwatney

By Jacob Quinn Sanders ( Contact)

LITTLE ROCK One day after Arkansas Democratic Party Chairman Bill Gwatney was shot and killed at the party’s Little Rock headquarters, the motive of the man who authorities say pulled the trigger eluded investigators and the people who saw him every day.

Not even the contents of Timothy Dale Johnson’s home on Janet Lane just southwest of Searcy offered clear answers about whether Johnson’s rampage was motivated by politics or business or something else altogether.

Little Rock police removed his will, a computer, a stickynote bearing Gwatney’s name and a telephone number, two Gwatney auto-dealership key chains with keys, the antidepressant drug Effexor and 14 guns from his house.
